When is the best time to move?

In many cases, you will not have a choice of when you have to move but, if you do have some flexibility in your scheduling, consider the following:

• you may be able to enjoy greater flexibility with moving dates and better moving rates if you are able to move outside of the busy season (May though October)

• moving in the middle of the month may also offer better flexibility for moving dates, as we are busier at the beginning and end of the month

• moving on a weekday can be useful because you can take advantage of open government offices, banks and other services should an emergency arise during the move
